Something came to me a few years ago through channeling. I hope it resonates with someone here.
A lot of times people will suggest meditation for anxiety &/or depression. They present a form of meditation that although it may work for some, it makes things worse for others.
One of the 1st things suggested is that we find a comfortable spot & clear our minds. Racing thoughts is a huge part of what we're dealing with. Clearing the mind becomes a task of pressure & more anxiety.
I heard the words "active meditation" years ago & it really changed a lot.
With active meditation you don't force away the overwhelming energy/emotions you're feeling. You use them to give you strength & calm you through excitement.
One method I've shared with some of my students, clients & friends has been music.
Music & dance are super healing & powerful. They also allow the mind to travel outside of self but into self.
If you're feeling anxious or depressed find a song that makes you feel confident, beautiful & strong. Then put yourself into the song & see what your music video would look & feel like.
Don't simmer down. Raise up. Its ok to have energy that is overwhelming. You just have to start playing with it.
Whatever touches you is yours to mold.
