We’re hiring!

Better Perspective Consulting is looking for a Grant & Operations Associate (Part-Time, Contract) to join our growing team.

Over the past year, I’ve been building Better Perspective to support nonprofits, small businesses, and community-based organizations with grant writing, financial strategy, and systems that actually help them grow.

Now, I’m looking for someone to grow with it.
This role is a great fit for someone who is:
• Organized and detail-oriented
• A strong writer and communicator
• Interested in nonprofit work, consulting, or entrepreneurship
• Looking for hands-on experience across real client projects

No grant writing experience required - just a willingness to learn and take initiative.

✨ Starting at ~5–10 hours/week (with room to grow)

On May 5 and May 28, I had the pleasure of facilitating Write to Win: Grant Writing Workshops in partnership with Social Enterprise Greenhouse. First in English at the Woonsocket Education Center, and then in Spanish at the Rhode Island College Hub in .

These sessions reminded me why I love this work. At Better Perspective Consulting, we don’t just write grants. We help nonprofits, entrepreneurs, and community leaders build capacity, fund impact, and tell their stories powerfully.

El 5 y el 28 de mayo, tuve el placer de facilitar los talleres “Escribe Para Ganar: Redacción de Subvenciones” en colaboración con Social Enterprise Greenhouse. Primero en inglés en el Woonsocket Education Center, y luego en español en el RIC Workforce Development Hub en Central Falls.

Celebrating National Entrepreneurship Week! 🚀

Last fall, I had the privilege of helping the Colombian American Cultural Society apply for the Pawtucket ARPA grant. We carefully crafted a compelling proposal, and I’m thrilled to share that they were awarded 50% of the amount requested to support their incredible cultural initiatives!

This achievement highlights how thoughtful strategy, storytelling, and grant writing expertise can make a real impact for organizations. This is also a full-circle moment for me because I previously served on their board and have seen firsthand the value they bring to our community. Part of what sets me apart as a consultant is my deep commitment to the communities I serve—this isn’t just business, it’s personal.

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend the Rhode Island Foundation’s Community Info Session, where they unveiled their new structure for grant opportunities. Here’s what stood out:

🔹 Thriving Rhode Island Grant Programs are designed to support equity-focused initiatives in three key areas:

🌟 Community Priority Grants: Funding for projects that align with the Foundation’s focus on equity and addressing root causes of community challenges.

🌟 Capacity Building Grants: Resources to strengthen organizations and their infrastructure to increase impact.

🌟 Catalyst Grants: Supporting innovative ideas and creative solutions that drive transformative change.

As a consultant and advocate for transformative change, I've had the unique opportunity to work with educational institutions across Rhode Island, helping them unlock the full potential of their resources. My work in education finance, including years of experience with the Uniform Chart of Accounts (UCOA), has provided schools with the clarity they need to optimize budgets, align resources with strategic goals, and ultimately create lasting impact.
