Finished your 8-Hour Pre-Assignment Training? What comes next for new security guards in New York?

The 16-Hour On-The-Job Training (OJT) is the next required training step. It is completed on the job, under supervision, and must be completed within 90 days of employment. Instead of learning only in a classroom, you build practical knowledge at your assigned post: reviewing site responsibilities, procedures, and how to carry out your duties professionally.

New to the field? OJT helps connect your training to the work you’ll do every day. Employers and partners: IPS Training Academy can support your new hires as they work toward completing this requirement.

For K’Lyle Jones, it starts with experience, leadership, and a commitment to developing people in the security profession.

With more than 20 years of professional security training experience, K’Lyle Managing Partner of Infinity Protection Services. A graduate of Montclair State University and former Sergeant in the U.S. Army, he brings a strong foundation in leadership, security operations, and professional development.

Throughout his career, K’Lyle has helped shape security solutions for clients across industries including corporate, government, healthcare, and banking. His leadership has also contributed to growth in employee engagement, client retention, and business development.

But beyond the experience and accomplishments, his focus remains on building a company that delivers meaningful, customized security solutions while helping security professionals grow.

As the CEO of Infinity Protection Services Training Academy, Farell brings extensive experience in security, executive protection, business continuity, and travel risk management.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership roles including Global Director of Security & Business Continuity, Director of Security Americas, Vice President of Travel Risk & Security Operations, and Armed Executive Protection Team Manager.
