Coming out of BK, 21-year old rapper/producer Bear Haley has been making music for the past 10 years 🤯

His unique sound that blends an essence of nostalgic bars mixed with production synonymous with most emerging artists today has made Bear an artist that has stayed repeat for us this year 🔂

This past friday, Chicago based indie band Slow Pulp hosted a secret acoustic show in BK at thehancockfoundation as they get ready to release their highly anticipated album, Melodie, set to drop next month.

The historical Bed-Stuy mansion was overflowing with fans in every hallway and staircase after tickets sold out in just minutes after the band announced the show on IG.

Lead singer Emily Massey and the Madison-bred band commanded the room as they played an incredible set spanning from the hits to unreleased tracks off their new project set to release Sep. 18th 🎤🎸

This memorable night is a small reminder of the beauty of pop-up shows that occupy the many spaces and settings of New York, where you can unknowingly stumble upon some of music’s fastest growing talent on any given night 🤩

The underground has emerged as one of the year’s defining forces, transforming niche internet communities into launchpads for rap’s next generation.

Among the newest voices to emerge from that movement is Lima, Ohio rapper Kori Liles . After introducing herself to a wider audience with a breakout performance at Rolling Loud this past May, Kori is beginning to carve out a lane of her own with her debut EP, when I realized. The 12-track project strikes a compelling balance between vulnerability and confidence, weaving introspective songwriting into the distorted melodies and hard-hitting production that have become synonymous with this new era of underground rap.

Drawing inspiration from artists as sonically different as Playboi Carti and Men I Trust, she has already begun crafting a sound that feels distinctly her own. If when I realized is any indication, Kori isn’t simply another promising name from the underground; she’s an artist with the foundation to build something lasting.

Fresh off the release of his debut EP, mulholland drive, noé sat down with us last week to discuss the creative process behind the project, the transition from type-beat producer to artist, and the challenge of building a visual world around music rooted primarily in
production.

Across eight tracks and just 16 minutes, mulholland drive balances nostalgia and mystery while offering the clearest introduction yet to Noé’s artistic identity. The Belgium-based producer began making music at 13, building an audience through type beats inspired by artists such as Destroy Lonely, Ken Carson, Nettspend, and OsamaSon. A decade later, mulholland drive marks his first multi-song project, a release that took years in the making.
