THROWBACK

When we were growing up in the 70s, if your mom has this kind of stove, then you guys are not poor! Infact, having this in your kitchen would make you take many of your friends to mum's kitchen to show off. Then firewoods is the most popular item used for cooking.

This [gas-like stove} would make you salivate when mum is cooking, and because it has two faces, the cooking is faster and another exciting thing about it is the pure blue flames it brings. The kerosine goes inside the bottle on its right side(how exciting).

My brother sent this as a gift to mum and I can remember vividly that mum safely kept it in our pantry and only used it for important occasions. Anytime we saw this stove outside, it was going to be 'yummy'!

Does anyone in the house have a similar experience?

Nothing is impossible if you have the zeal to do it. How long do you want to keep procrastinating when the TRUTH is staring at you on your face like this? Since my childhood, I have always loved to give back to the society. For those that knows me, COMPASSION AND EMPATHY have always been my watchwords.

I am not in any way near PERFECTION., but in my little capacity I have made sure I hold nothing back when it comes to helping a fellow human being.

In life, there are some things you cannot change when it comes to DESTINY. We just have to do what we have to do sometimes. Being a WOMAN OF MANY PARTS isn't really my plan originally, but DESTINY has made me diversify to different things and i have no regrets whatsoever.

I had worked in a different capacity {Talking about profession). I have worked in the Financial Institution, I have been a Beauty Therapist, Now in Healthcare and also running an Online Digital Business.

In all these, what matters to me is to be able to help people in any way I can. I am so glad i could help out when this COVID19 came rearing its ugly head. This fulfils me more than the financial returns.

A popular Yoruba movie titled ‘Asewo to re Mecca was released as a home video in the year 1992 featuring Shola Sobowale, Toyin Adegbola and others. Toyin Adegbola came into the limelight then and has remained relevant on our tv screen ever since. From that 1992, I have lost count of how many times I’ve been stopped on the street of Lagos believing I am the ‘Asewo to re Mecca’. In other words, we both have a striking resemblance as if we are blood sisters or a twin. We eventually met just few years back here in the USA when she was on a tour to some Countries. To be honest, the resemblance isn’t from here I promise you! Apart from that, we have so many things in common and we can actually pass for an identical twin except that she’s older than me.
