Comment “FLOWER PETAL” and I’ll send the workbook your way!!

I LOOOVE systems. They help reduce mental load and capacity drain in so many different ways, and I found it preposterous that there isn’t a great system available for evaluating new work opportunities to understand how they’ll actually align with YOU and your individual needs and life priorities.

Because too often, we accept opportunities that look great on paper, only to find that they couldn’t be a worse fit.

So that’s why I created the Flower Petal Rubric (adapted from the Flower Exercise from one of my fave career books, “What Color is Your Parachute”). This workbook will walk you through defining 7 key criteria for your work, and give you a template to create a rubric to evaluate and score potential opportunities against. So when you get a high score, you know it’s because the job checks ALLLL of your boxes.

Would love you to try it out, and let me know what you think!

Comment AUTHENTIC NETWORKING and I’ll send you a copy!

I think networking gets a bad rap - people see it as this awkward process of hitting up strangers to try and finagle an intro or job referral or some other favor of transactional nature.

But good networking, that actually adds value without feeling icky, comes from building real relationships. This takes away the weirdness of asking for favors, and opens up even more doors when people keep you top of mind for opportunities. The catch, however, is that this relationship-building needs to happen before you reach the point of “transaction”.

If you are actively looking for a job and “need a network now”, lead with a curiosity to learn, rather than only seeking favors, and you’ll find that people are more willing to help.

Comment “ROLE-FIRST INTERVIEW” and I’ll send you a link to grab your copy!

Ok we KNOW interviews are the worst but they are a necessary evil, so if you’re going to spend hours preparing, let’s make sure you’re squeezing as much juice out of that prep as possible!

Think of your interview stories like a capsule wardrobe - you only need 6-8 really strong pieces, but they need to be versatile enough to mix and match for different occasions. Your “team turnaround” story might show leadership, conflict resolution, AND strategic thinking, depending on which parts you emphasize.

But here’s the key: start with the job requirements, not your stories. Just like you’d plan a capsule wardrobe around where you’ll be wearing it (you wouldn’t buy a formal dress unless you know you’ll have a formal event to attend), build your story bank around the skills that repeatedly show up in your target roles.

The best part? Once you’ve done this work upfront, you won’t be scrambling to remember the details of that project from 2 years ago when you’re already stressed about the interview. You’ll have your go-to stories ready, and know exactly how to tailor them for different requirements.

On today’s episode of books that are definitely worth more than just an email, enter: Open to Work, by CEO and Chief Economic Opportunity Officer

What happens when you take the two most qualified professionals to predict how jobs will evolve in the AI era, and get them to spill everything they know on this topic? This book.

These aren’t thought leaders speculating from the sidelines. This is the CEO of the platform sitting on top of a billion professional profiles, real-time hiring data, and the actual skills trends shaping the global labor market - telling you exactly what they’re seeing, right now, and what it means for your career.

Most AI career advice right now is either fear-mongering or generic platitudes. This book is neither. It’s specific. It’s grounded in data most people will never have access to. And it makes an argument I’ve been waiting for someone with this level of authority to make: the career ladder is dead, and what’s replacing it has the potential to be much better.

If you’d like to pre-order your copy and make sense of what AI means for your career, comment OPEN and I’ll send you the deets.

To get the free framework, comment “VALUE METRICS” and I’ll send you a link!

Advocating for your work is not just about tracking everything you do, but understanding how companies evaluate ROI - companies invest $X in your salary expecting $XX+ in return.

And your manager is the most influential person in your career advancement, but they probably have 100+ priorities competing for their attention - you can’t assume they have tabs on your full impact.

I KNOWWW it feels awkward and uncomfortable to “brag” about yourself at work. This is why using metrics is the best approach - it takes the emotion out of it by objectifying the outcome of all that unseen work. And, it makes it easy on your manager to tell their manager about all the ways that you are so great!!

Quick example: Instead of “I manage our client databases #,” try “Implemented system that reduced response time by 40% and increased client retention 25%”

This framework = your playbook for turning daily work into compelling value metrics that drive raises, promotions, and job offers. Because your career growth depends on it!!

Comment “CAREER MOAT” and I’ll send you a link to grab the framework!

Think about two people starting their careers today:

Person A decides to specialize in sustainable AI development. Person B pursues print magazine publishing. Neither can predict the future, but one is positioning themselves where value is growing, while the other is fighting against industry headwinds.

This is why the concept of a career moat is so powerful. It’s not just about being good at what you do - it’s about building competitive advantages that compound over time. The strongest ones typically come from:

1. Technical depth in emerging fields (like that AI developer)
2. Deep domain expertise (like someone in finance who understands healthcare regulations inside and out)
3. Unique skill combinations (like a UX designer who can code)
4. Relationship capital in growing industries (like having a strong network in climate tech)

Any of these can be a moat, but the key is choosing areas where the value of your expertise or relationships grows stronger over time, not weaker.

The framework helps you identify these opportunities in your industry. It’s not about predicting the future - it’s about positioning yourself where time works for you, not against you.

Comment ‘50/30/20 STRATEGY’ and I’ll send you a free copy!

I’ve been creating content for 2+ years now, and I know just how hard constantly coming up with new creative ideas can be. There are some days that a blank notion doc feels like staring into a creative black hole, and the ideas refuse to come.

That’s why systems like this one are so powerful. Not only does it ensure that every piece of content you put out is working towards a clear and common goal, but it also helps avoid depleting your creative energy.

The 50/30/20 strategy goes like this:

- 50% of your content showcases your core expertise - the specialized knowledge you want to get paid for and be known for (This builds credibility and shows potential clients or employers exactly why they should hire you)

- 30% of your content shares your industry perspective and values - your take on trends, challenges, and changes needed in your field (This positions you as a thought leader who understands the bigger picture, not just your specific role)

- 20% of your content builds personal connection - showing the human side of your journey and how you live your values daily, separate from your core topics (People connect with people, so this makes you relatable and memorable)

Day 6 drops soon and trusssst - once you combine this content strategy with what’s coming next, you’ll be unstoppable 🎯

Comment “PERSONAL BRAND CLARITY” and I’ll send you a link to my favorite framework so far!

I heard a quote recently that I can’t get out of my head. It said, “whatever you do, if you make content about it, you will outperform the competition”.

The people who get the promotions, raises, and opportunities aren’t just good at their jobs - whether or not they’re actively posting on LinkedIn, they’ve mastered the story of WHY their work matters. Creating social media content is just a way to amplify that message even further.

Because here’s what people about personal branding: It’s not about being the loudest, it’s about being clear on your value. Personal brands aren’t built on motivational quotes, but on strong perspectives earned through experience.

Quick example: Instead of “I’m passionate about marketing,” try “I believe most companies waste money on flashy campaigns when their customers are begging for simple clarity.” See how that second one makes you lean in?

This framework will help you:

- Turn your experience into spicy takes worth sharing
- Package your expertise so people actually give a s**t
- Stand out without being another LinkedIn guru
- Build the authority that makes opportunities come to YOU

Because your work is too damn good to get lost in the noise!!

And stay tuned, because on day 5, we’re going through my FAVORITE strategy to translate your clarified personal brand strategy into a never-ending supply of content ideas. See ya soon!
