🌟 Client Success Story Spotlight 🌟

We’re thrilled to share how data-driven collaboration can create real impact! Based on the SY25 Needs Assessment that L&G completed, one of our local Community-Based Organization (CBO) partners, The Leadership Program, took a significant step in empowering families by launching English as a New Language (ENL) classes tailored to workforce contexts.

The Highlights:
⭐ Classes are led by a dedicated volunteer instructor from the CBO, with Spanish translations to ensure accessibility.
⭐ Partnerships are forming! The Parent Coordinator is recruiting a family volunteer to expand translation support into Albanian.
⭐ An incredible 22 family members joined the first session, dedicating 1.5 hours to building essential skills.

This initiative is a shining example of how thoughtful data collection and community collaboration pave the way for better services and stronger connections.

L&G has an exciting update to share. As a company that has always been focused on our clients, we have recently reflected on some ways we could provide even better support for them.

L&G has long offered capacity building services for clients, such as grant writing, strategic advising, comprehensive support with MTAC applications and more. However, as is the natural growth of any consulting firm, we have decided to hone in on this work and launch a Capacity Building department.

Heading up this department will be Hayley Davis, MPH -- previously our Director of Development. Hayley will be continuing many of her past responsibilities in her new role as Director of Capacity Building. By focusing specifically on this new area, however, Hayley will be honing in on her expertise and intimate familiarity with nonprofit organizations.

Our new Capacity Building department will provide nonprofit and for-profit clients alike the deep-dive services they need to expand both their revenue and their reach, and ultimately, maximize their impact. Our capacity building services will include: grant writing, prospect research, expert strategic advising, supporting the completion of MTAC applications, and more. Reach out to us if you or anyone you know is interested in accessing these services.

Additionally, we will be expanding this department by diversifying the skill set of our evaluation team. We are excited to announce that two weeks ago, Sophia Bolt, PhD joined our team as Senior Research and Evaluation Officer. In addition to managing a portfolio of program evaluation projects, Sophia will support Hayley with special projects such as research grants for clients.

We will announce more as this department develops. For now, we are so happy to have launched this department and redefined the ways in which we can significantly support our clients.

We are two months into 2024. How is everyone doing with their new year's resolutions? At L&G, we are busy as ever supporting our clients and community, while still trying to prioritize self-care.

Are you celebrating your successes so far, and/or building off of any highlights from last year? We have one we'd like to share:

Last fall, Danielle Lawrence-Campbell, DrPH, MPH, our amazing President and Co-Owner, delivered the keynote speech for the Emerging Women Leaders Program at Boston University / Boston University School of Public Health -- the same place she received her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Community Health Sciences. She gave an honest, personal, relatable, and inspiring speech, encouraging the young leaders to be the authors of their own lives. One line in particular that we like is, "Writing our best life story involves making intentional decisions that align with our values and aspirations."

We agree, and could not be more proud or inspired ourselves.

Cheers to Danielle and to everyone else seeking to follow their own path and support their community even more in 2024.

Happy Friday! In the spirit of the new year, we are sharing some reflections from our Director of Development. In addition to continuing to provide expert evaluation services for several of our trusted clients, we have had great success securing funds and building the capacity of many organizations -- and look forward to supporting even more.

Here is our Director of Development's 2023 reflection:

Reflecting on 2023 and feeling how proud I am of the success we've had for our clients at L & G Research and Evaluation Consulting, Inc.

Recent successes of our team include:

- securing $45K for capacity building services for Opus Dance Theatre Company from the Communities of Color Nonprofit Stabilization Fund (via New York City Council)

- securing $300K for four years for NYC Community School District 18 for NYS's My Brother's Keeper Initiative

- securing $1M for three years for NYC Community School District 17 for the U. S. Department of Justice Bureau of Justice's STOP School Violence Program

- supporting several clients in completing and submitting their MTAC applications so they can contract with the NYC Department of Education for five years at a time without limit

-- all this on top of so many more projects we've completed and advising we have done, and all of the learning that took place at several different conferences. I'm grateful to work with such a highly skilled and experienced team and to be able to have a broad impact across many different organizations, including nonprofit, for profit, and educational institutions -- all of whom are doing such amazing work in their communities. And knowing we can expand and support projects from essentially anywhere.
