Using AI as a search engine is a missed opportunity. When you use it as a thought partner, it doesn’t replace your leadership, it sharpens it.

Before your next big decision, try sharing your perspective and asking what you might be overlooking.

How are you using AI to support your thinking this week? Let us know below. 👇

This month on the Mindful Manager Series, we;re focusing on AI’s role in Management. AI can speed up routine tasks, summarize data, and generate ideas, but it can never replace human judgment, relationships, and meaningful leadership. Technology shouldn’t replace managers, it raises the bar for what effective leadership looks like by freeing up time for coaching, feedback, and real connection.

Try taking one repetitive task taking 30+ minutes this week, streamline it with AI, and reinvest that saved time into supporting your people.

Influencing up comes down to one shift: moving from problem-sharing to solution-framing.
Bring a point of view:
1️⃣ Here’s what we’re seeing.
2️⃣ Here’s what I think it means.
3️⃣ Here’s what I recommend.
Clear context leads to faster decisions.

Some of the most important people you need to influence don’t report to you.
That’s the reality of work today.
Before making your next request of a stakeholder, take a minute to think about their world:
What are they accountable for?
What pressure are they under?
What’s in this for them?
Where do your interests overlap?
Influence without authority starts when you stop looking only at what you need and understand what matters to them.

When a change initiative ends, most teams rush immediately to the next priority. Don’t miss the opportunity to grow. Take fifteen minutes to reflect: What are we most proud of? What did we learn? What do we want to carry forward? Resilient teams are built through reflection, not just by moving on.

People rarely resist change for the same reason. Before you try to convince them to get on board, pause and ask: What might they be worried about losing? What do they need to understand? Understanding where someone is coming from is the secret to building real buy-in.

08/03/2026

When navigating organizational change, the hardest part for your team isn’t the new strategy, it’s the uncertainty.

Without clear communication, people naturally fill in the blanks with worst-case scenarios. As a leader, you don’t need to have all the answers. Your job is to communicate consistently, acknowledge the unknown, and listen.

This week, try asking your team: “What feels most uncertain right now?”

The mid-year conversation isn’t a mini annual review. It’s a coaching conversation with time still ahead. Affirm what’s working, course-correct what isn’t, and align on what matters most for the second half.

07/06/2026

Performance management isn’t about rating people; it’s about helping them succeed. This mid-year, shift from formal reviews to alignment by asking your team: what’s going well, where are they stuck, and what support do they need to finish strong?

Challenge: Schedule one short check-in this week to create space for an honest conversation.

We want to hear from you! What is your go-to question for opening up an honest dialogue with your team? Reply in the comments!
