Starve Your Distractions

Focus on your intentions. Where do you want to see your business in the next few years? And what do you need to do to get there?

People will always have opinions but don’t let those opinions throw off your game. It’s hard when self doubt and insecurities take over but if you’ve made it this far you can travel the other mile.

Work on curating relationships with others that can inspire to do something for your business everyday not the ones that will criticize you.

Take sometime to feed your focus.

“I’ve been gone for a minute now I back with the jump off” … Lil Kim

Over the last few months I’ve been very quiet in the background because amazing opportunities were happening to me and as Kevin Hart would say “I wasn’t ready.” but I’m no punk I rise to the occasion.

So here’s what I’ve learned over these past few months:

🌟1. Affirmations are powerful. Routinely reciting and believing in affirmations has improved my confidence, challenged me to keep going when things get harder but most of all what I’ve affirmed it has happed. There’s something powerful about affirming daily what you’re capable of achieving and actually having it happen. So I am more intentional with my goals.
🌟2. If you ask God for something make sure you prepare for when he gives it to you. Do what you know how to do to prepare for it. If you pray for more clients do what you know to prepare for more clients.
🌟3. As things change and opportunities open up you have to change with it. You can’t get a different outcome with the same ole strategy.

You see I’ve asked for a successful career in event education, I’ve asked to be promoted in my 9x5 job, I’ve ask for opportunities to teach outside of the U.S, and I’ve affirmed to continue to build positive relationship in my industry and it’s happening I just need to stop acting like it’s a coincidence. My intentions this year is to be more positive, more purposeful, and better prepared.

Remember to be watchful for the things you affirm and pray for.

Comment ⬇️ if you are ready for the intentions you set for yourself this year.

As women in the industry we need to support each other. We are stronger united than divided. Each one of us brings something special and different to the table.

Here are 7 ways you can support another woman in the events industry

1. Collaborate with her. Figure out how you can work with one another to help enhance each others business
2. Refer her to others if you like, know, and trust
3. Compliment her great work
4. Share her post/reels
5. Don't exclude her.
6. Share information with her.
7. Pay her invoice.
8. Bonus: Don’t criticize her instead correct her

Let's promote change. There’s room for all of us. Comment below if you have any suggestions on how we can better support another woman in the industry.

Want to hear something crazy?

One of the best ways to improve your own business is to learn from both the successes and the failures of other planners in the event industry.

You should not have to place yourself in others exact shoes, but you can always get great knowledge by understanding others in the industry.

Observe, use the information that you can to improvise your strategy, keep your own goals in mind and apply a plan. You Do Not have to mimic in order to learn.

If you’ve learned something valuable from someone you admire in the industry and it led to you improving your business and/skills comment below.
