I’m actually laughing at some of the reactions to the new White House press secretary.
Some of the same people who constantly preach women’s rights, feminism, and empowering women are now publicly tearing this woman apart after her FIRST press briefing.
Was she great? Maybe not. Was she nervous? Maybe. Does she have room to improve? Absolutely!
But come on. We’ve had press secretaries under both parties who relied on scripts, stumbled through answers, and weren’t exactly impressive every time they stepped behind that podium.
So here’s what I find hilarious.
You preach about supporting women, lifting women up, and giving women opportunities. But the second a woman doesn’t share your politics, all that empowerment seems to go right out the window.
Criticize her policies. Question her answers. Hold her accountable. That’s fair game.
But don’t pretend you’re championing women while personally tearing one down simply because she’s on the other side of the political aisle.
Supporting women shouldn’t come with a political affiliation.
And THAT is the hypocrisy I’m talking about.
