2026 TAX PLANNING: Lower-income individuals and families

WHAT TO REVIEW BEFORE YEAR-END

Tax planning isn’t just for high earners.

Depending on your income and family situation, you may qualify for valuable tax credits and deductions that can put money back in your pocket.

From the Earned Income Tax Credit and Child Tax Credit to childcare expenses, retirement savings, and new deductions for qualified tips and overtime, there are opportunities worth reviewing before the year ends.

Even if you don’t owe taxes, filing a return may still help you claim credits you’re entitled to receive.

And remember - the best tax planning happens before the transaction, not after the tax return is filed. Do you agree?

Swipe through, review the checklist, and don’t overlook the tax benefits available to you.

DO YOU OWE A LARGE TAX DEBT YOU CAN’T PAY? This is for you. Swipe 👉

Ignoring it does not make it go away. Penalties and interest keep growing, and the IRS can move to liens or levies. The good news is, there are options, and the first step is facing the number.

Option 1, Installment Agreement: pay the debt in monthly payments you can manage.

Option 2, Offer in Compromise: settle for less than you owe, if you qualify and genuinely cannot pay in full.

Option 3, Currently Not Collectible status: if paying would leave you unable to cover basic living expenses, the IRS can temporarily pause collection. Interest still accrues, and the IRS reviews your situation over time, so it is a pause, not a write off.

You do not have to figure out which path fits on your own. Talk to a tax pro who can look at your income, expenses, and assets and run the numbers first.

Did your child get $250 this week? You need to know this. 👶

Michael and Susan Dell pledged $6.25 billion to deposit $250 into federal ‘Trump Accounts’ for qualifying children.

The money comes through the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Michael Dell founded Dell Technologies.

Who qualifies: children born 2016 through 2024 (age 10 or under) living in lower and middle income ZIP codes, plus all military families no matter the ZIP. About 70% of kids under 10 live in a qualifying ZIP.

Those deposits landed on Friday. If your child qualifies, there may already be $250 sitting with their name on it.

The $250 landed automatically, but you cannot see it, touch it, or manage it until you CLAIM the account in the official Trump Accounts app. Unclaimed, it just sits in an S&P 500 index fund.

And do not confuse this with the $1,000. That is a separate federal pilot for children born 2025 through 2028, and a parent also has to claim the account to get it.

So check your child’s account or claim it if you haven’t done so yet.

Share this with any parent who should check too, most people have no idea this money exists. 👇
