, a project for which we did the lighting design, just received a Michelin star this year! Congrats to the team. We would like to think it came from our custom-designed and fabricated star light fixtures in the ceiling… but we know better. (On a side note, we also designed the flagship store below).

is officially open! We are very proud to have designed the lighting for this new building at 432 Park Ave in Manhattan along with the architects . As our Insta feed can attest, we have been long-standing collaborators with Phillips, doing the lighting set up for each of their Evening Auction Exhibitions for years now. So excited to see them land in their new home!

TMLight is honored to have 2 projects garner AIA National awards this year! A great honor for our collaborators. We were so excited to be involved in the lighting design for this extension of the Walker, the new landscape that embraces the Walker site, as well as the lighting for the renovated Minneapolis Sculpture Garden. Joan Soranno, John Cook, and the rest of their team at HGA were amazing to work with.

This expansion for Minneapolis' Walker Art Center, one of the most important venues for contemporary art in the country, unifies a previously disjointed site.

We actually had two lighting projects that went on to win AIA National Awards this year. A tremendous honor for our design collaborators (and us)! The first we’ll mention is Co-Op Ramen in collaboration with Marlon Blackwell.

A quick description: A ramen restaurant serves one humble ingredient (the ramen noodle) that can be combined with an almost infinite number of secondary elements to make a series of very special dishes. The architecture of the space works similarly: One basic element (plywood) is configured in many different architectural ways to create a dynamic spatial and material composition. The lighting design approach works within this same language. One simple lighting component (the exposed A lamp bulb with a screw-in base) is integrated into a series of unique details to create a diverse pallet and texture of lighting.

In this new fast-casual ramen restaurant located in the bustling 8th Street Market in Bentonville, Arkansas, seemingly unrefined materials help create a quiet oasis.

Special thanks to Aoife O'Leary on the TMLight team who worked with me on getting this one landed beautifully!
