Just bought some amazing asparagus from the farmers market and made this high protein, low carb frittata! The best thing about this dish is it can work for a breakfast, a lunch, OR a dinner! KEEP IT SIMPLE... KEEP IT YUMMY 😋

Stay tuned for this super duper easy recipe coming right your way...

Nutrition tidbit: did you know asparagus is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant rich food??? Yep it is - making it one of the best risk reducers we know for common chronic health problems including type 2 diabetes and heart disease ❤️ ➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

Happy Monday 😎

I love love love that foam rolling, a self-myofascial release (SMR) stretching technique can be seen in pretty much any gym these days along with a number of peeps foam rolling on their living room floors 😉 So I wanna help you make the time you spend foam rolling even better with these 3 tips:

(1) I know it's called foam ROLLING, but slow down!!! Think of it from now on as Foam HOLDING

(2) Once you find a tender spot STOP and focus on that spot for 30 seconds! If rolling out your quads contract your muscles for 3-5 seconds then release. Do this for a few breaths - yes I said breaths... PLEASE REMEMBER TO BREATHE

(3) Another way to get into your quads is to slowly bring your heels (one at a time) towards your glutes - yes it doesn't hurt as much if you go really fast, but like I said, I wanna help you get the most out of the time you spend foam HOLDING 😜

I have a confession to make... I don't do every week, and I seldom do on cardio equipment. What I like to do is find activities that I ENJOY and that relate to my fitness goals!

However, right now I'm dealing with an injured thumb so I've had to hang my boxing gloves up for the past few weeks and I have been embracing the wonderful aspects of gentle steady-state cardio! It feels nurturing to my body while it heals and the compliance is high!

Today I did 65mins of steady-state cardio while listening to Amy Schumer on the podcast "Here's The Thing with Alec Baldwin" and you know what, I feel amazing and ready to tackle the rest of my day!

The most important thing we can do while on our journey is to listen to our bodies, sometimes walking/running on the may be part of your fitness routine, and sometimes it won't be - there is no right or wrong!

BUT if you find forms of exercise that you enjoy, that are fun for you, the more likely you are going to make them part of your routine! This will make reaching your that much easier, you won't want to make excuses to skip your workouts, you will actually want to do them because they make you feel good, and strong, and sexy, and lean, and HAPPY! 😅💪

I have recently just started adding deadlifts from the floor into my own workouts & I ❤️ them! Since its a new exercise I'm starting light and increasing my weight each time - here is 95lbs x 8 reps! This exercise has quickly become my FAVOURITE exercise to get your butt looking amazing Do 4 sets 8-10 reps, by the 10th rep of each set it should be HARD If you feel you could keep going past 12 reps comfortably it's time to ... I like as your working your & ALSO many upper body muscles are recruited as stabilizers and synergists… making this a killer exercise! FUN CIRCUIT: 1⃣Kettlebell Swings X 20 reps 2⃣V grip Lat Pulldown X 8-10 reps 3⃣Deadlifts X 8-10 reps.... do 4 sets

As a personal trainer the one question I get asked a lot from my clients is: "What exercise should I do when I'm not training with you?" And it's a valid question; just google 'best exercise' and you'll get pages of wildly divergent answers. Some claim the is the best exercise, others say or **ch grip deadlifts and let's not forget about !!! However, the #1 exercise that's best for YOU is one that you enjoy! One that even if it's physically challenging and not exactly what you would call "pleasurable" - it leaves you feeling empowered! Maybe you were on the high school swim team? Why not look into joining a gym with a pool Were you a rower back in the day OR ever just thought it would be cool to try? There are tons of great group rowing classes popping up all over the place, so find one close to you and give it a go! Find that certain exercise that sparks joy in you. When I started doing what I actually enjoyed (like getting a boxing coach, going on hikes, playing tennis with the hubby and lifting weights) about 4-6 times a week for around an hour each, my happiness, strength, and body composition improved immensely! ☺️

Ready for a super easy chicken recipe that works great for lunch or dinner? Found this delicious pesto & quinoa spread at last month and I've been obsessed ever since!
1⃣Preheat the oven's broiler and set the rack about 6 inches from the heat (or simply use your toaster oven set to "Hi" heat - which I did) 2⃣ Rub Trader Joe's Pesto and Quinoa over each chicken breast, then season with S+P 3⃣ Place the chicken on a broiling pan 4⃣ Broil in the preheated oven (or toaster oven) for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken breast 5⃣ Continue broiling the chicken until the juices run clear, about 10 minutes more 6⃣ Remove from the oven and allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving My favourite way to eat the pesto & quinoa chicken is cut into bite-size pieces and throw in my kale salad for lunch! Alternatively I eat the chicken with a side of sweet potato and asparagus for a dinner

I ❤️ triceps! (I also love chin-ups, heavy bench press & Tetris - but that's another story) This is my go-to tricep exercise for clients who are getting ready to walk down the aisle (or get ready for summer)! The reason I love using the for tricep extensions is that not only are you working your triceps but also your core since the straps are wobbly; meaning you will need to maintain balance throughout the entire exercise! Aim for 3 Sets X 20 reps! Have a wedding coming up this summer? Let me know what area you're looking to so you look amazing in your wedding dress and I will post my go-to exercises
