The calendar still says it’s winter, but the flowers are already blooming and temps are hitting the 60’s, which means…
IT’S TIME TO GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER!
For those not yet in the know, Get Your Act Together (GYAT) is a series of 3 monthly TV writing workshops offered by The Write Draft and led by Cheri Magid. Cheri’s workshops are a terrific way to work on your new or in-progress TV pilot script!
For the first session, you’ll bring in either an act, a beat sheet, or an act and a beat sheet. At each of the three monthly sessions you’ll get a minimum half-hour workshop of your pages in a small-group setting. It's a wonderful forum for developing new work and meeting those deadlines. The spring session runs monthly from April—June, and the cost is just $400 for all three sessions.
Classes take place Friday nights, April 15, May 13 and June 10 from 6-11 PM in Manhattan.
If you are a new student, please email a logline for your project and a 200-word writer bio to Cheri’s assistant, Terry Milner, at terrymilner [at] gmail [dot] com no later than April 1. If you are a returning student of Cheri's, simply send Terry a note saying you're interested. You can also email Terry with questions about GYAT before you apply. We hope you can join us! Space is very limited - right now there are only 4 slots available - so don't delay!
Cheri Magid teaches TV writing, playwriting and screenwriting at the Goldberg Department of Dramatic Writing at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where she is on faculty. She is currently the Tennessee Williams Playwright in Residence at Sewanee University of the South and is writing on the Emmy-award children's TV show, Arthur.
