Recent retail real estate news includes major acquisitions, a new investment partnership and retailers evolving their expansion strategies.

Pine Tree has completed the largest transaction in its 31-year history, acquiring an interest in 10 primarily grocery-anchored centers valued at $644 million. Separately, Nuveen Real Estate and PSP Investments have launched a $790 million JV that already has acquired 19 open-air centers across eight states.

Elsewhere in the industry:

• Kroger plans to open about 110 new grocery stores through 2029.
• Hermès is targeting affluent U.S. suburbs for expansion.
• Nordstrom Rack is returning to downtown San Francisco.
• Fanatics is opening in a mixed-use development for the first time.
• 10 prominent U.S. high-street corridors had their busiest third quarter in four years, according to Placer.ai.
