This is a love letter and a fond farewell to Yellow Brick Collective:
8 years ago, I finally decided to put fear on the back burner and throw myself into my photography business full time. What an insanely scary moment that was! I never thought I would be where I am now. I am so proud and grateful for the opportunity to meet and create art with so many incredible souls through my first bo***ir company.
Yellow Brick Collective was started with two artist friends Natalia Carrasco and Aryeh Lappin and we worked together to create an awesome space for women to realize their true beauty, inside and out. It was hard at first and we made some mistakes but had many victories also! Starting a business with two friends is never an easy task but we were there for each other through so much, personally and professionally, and the support and laughter will always mean so much to me.
With that being said, change is inevitable. Life marches on and either we keep up with the pace or we stay complacent, and I have never been one to stay complacent. ;)
When I made the decision to rebrand, I knew that it would be a huge challenge. I had put it off for a couple of years because again, I was scared. We had built YBC from the ground up and our following is strong, so why fix it if it ain’t broke? And to this I say, because I want to make it BETTER.
Today, I turn 35 years old, enter my 6th life cycle and launch my new brand dedicated to the incredible souls of this universe who want to feel empowered, create art and exist in photographs. My mother always told me that every 7 years your body and soul have a reinvention of sorts, you shed the prior 7 years and step into the next phase of your life. Think about the numbers, 7, 14, 21, 28, 35 etc… these are all milestone birthdays that you can look back on and see how you shifted physically and spiritually during those times. It is now time for me to shift once again (having a serious Doctor Who moment right now!) and embrace this new path!
In honor of this next and exciting phase of my life, I bid adieu to Yellow Brick Collective and welcome in True Muse with an open heart! As many of you know, I am quite sentimental (I still have t-shirts from 6th grade) so saying goodbye is so bittersweet, BUT I couldn’t be more happy and exhilarated to be bringing True Muse into the light!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of our supporters for the incredible LOVE you have shown YBC! I am getting emotional thinking about all the wonderful people we have met over the years through this company and the beautiful stories and images I have been able to capture. You will never know how much it has meant to all of us and I hope you follow my journey as I take on True Muse!
Our website will be coming soon! We ran into a few technical difficulties but we are working them out!
