The American Radio Relay League, Inc and it's associated 71 sections are a noncommercial association of radio amateurs, organized for the promotion of interest in Amateur Radio communication and experimentation, for the establishment of networks to provide communication in the event of disasters or other emergencies, for the advancement of the radio art and of the public welfare, for the representation of the radio amateur in legislative matters, and for the maintenance of fraternalism and a high standard of conduct.

I received a phone call this morning from Mike Swaider KA9E, President of the Amateur Radio Association of Newton County Indiana, saying that they have decided to cancel their hamfest scheduled for tomorrow in Winfield with plans to reschedule for a later date. This is due to the ongoing weather stresses that northwest Indiana has sustained and the forecast for more rain, wind, and thunderstorms over the upcoming 24-36 hours.

Our club operates the following repeaters: * 442.925 + offset PL 131.8 * 145.330 - offset PL 131.8 * 440.850 + offset PL 131.8 * 444.250 + offset PL 131.8 linked to 145.330 Our weekly Net is on Thursday evenings at 20:00 Hrs on 145.330.

Latest information from BMV about the Indiana Amateur Radio License Plate:

According to BMV, the vendor issue affecting the new redesign of the Indiana Amateur Radio License Plate has been resolved.

Per the BMV: "All operators that have received the 'covered bridge' plate since 2/13/2026 do not need to return to the branch. The vendor will send them a new plate at no cost."

Also per the BMV: "If you have an existing 'covered bridge' plate (issued before 2/13/2026), you can get the new-design plate by going to a BMV branch and ordering a duplicate plate. Duplicate plates are $9.50."
