Back then, if your bike broke, you didn’t run inside looking for a screen to tell you what to do.

You flipped it upside down in the driveway, grabbed whatever tools were lying around, and started figuring it out one mistake at a time. Maybe your hands got greasy, maybe the chain slipped twice, maybe you tightened the wrong bolt first… but sooner or later, you learned.

That was childhood for a lot of us. A bike wasn’t just a toy — it was freedom, transportation, and sometimes your first real lesson in patience. If you wanted to ride again, you had to learn how things worked.

And somewhere between the dirty jeans, scraped knuckles, and tools scattered on the concrete, you picked up more than bike repair. You learned common sense. You learned not to quit the second something went wrong. You learned that broken things could be fixed if you were willing to slow down and try.
