What can New York’s small businesses teach us about longevity, craftsmanship, and staying true to your roots?
This month, on a sunny (Good) Friday, Ann Piccirillo and Jon Joseph took a trip to the Bronx to continue our series JDA Eats: Stories, People, and Plates Across NYC, exploring the neighborhoods that shape New York’s culture while connecting back to the values that shape JDA TSG.
Their first stop was the Arthur Avenue Retail Market, a historic hub of The Bronx’s Little Italy. Inside, they visited Mike’s Deli, a staple known for its food and the relationships it has built over time, showing how consistency in the community is a key to lasting success.
Their next stop was to Casa Della Mozzarella, where fresh mozzarella is made by hand each day, highlighting the importance of craftsmanship and tradition in building something that endures.
They wrapped up at Egidio Pastry Shop, one of the oldest bakeries in the Bronx, serving the community since 1912 epitomizing what it means to preserve tradition in a changing city.
At JDA TSG, family is one of our core values. Learning from entrepreneurs dedicated to their craft reminds us that strong cultures grow the same way strong businesses do through authenticity, resilience, and the relationships we build along the way.
Follow along as JDA Eats through NYC highlighting standout restaurants, hidden gems, and the stories shaping neighborhoods across the city.
Stay tuned as this is a special month for JDA Eats with another segment coming soon.
