Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become more embedded in daily life, reshaping how data is processed, protected, and regulated. AI’s ability to analyze vast amounts of personal data at unprecedented speeds presents opportunities and challenges for data protection laws.

Traditional frameworks often struggle to keep pace with AI’s complexities, raising concerns about privacy, transparency, and accountability. However, AI also has the potential to enhance data protection by improving security, detecting breaches, and automating compliance measures.

Governments, tech companies, and organizations must rethink and adapt data protection laws to safeguard individual privacy while fostering innovation. Addressing AI-specific challenges, such as algorithmic transparency, bias mitigation, and cross-border data governance, is key to ensuring responsible AI development and ethical data practices in the digital age.

The Khana Group was engaged by UNICEF to conduct the Final Evaluation of the UNICEF C4ED Resilience Integrated Education Programming for Children in North East Nigeria – KFW Phases I and II (2018 – 2024) Qualitative Component.

Data collection was carried out across one LGA each in Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe states, focusing on schools and educational centers implementing various program interventions.

The evaluation aimed to assess changes over time as the project worked to enhance learning outcomes and resilience for children and youth affected by the crisis in North East Nigeria. By ensuring equitable access to quality education in safe, inclusive, and protective learning spaces, the program seeks to create lasting impact for vulnerable learners in the region.
