“For the first time I felt like I wasn't at the mercy of my urges. I was in control. I now know my why. I can pause, breathe, and redirect without spiraling. — Kira Rogatnik”
She came to me with over $40,000 in debt from compulsive shopping. Not reckless spending BUT emotional spending. She was caught in a cycle of buying to cope and then returning out of guilt, only to start again. Anxiety, insomnia, and depression were all tangled up in her relationship with money. She felt powerless and like she was drowning.
Here is the thing about why nothing had worked before. The therapists helped her understand the emotion. The financial coaches helped her look at the numbers. But nobody was connecting the two the body, the behavior, the belief, and the budget all at once. That is what Repurpose Your Life does.
We mapped her full financial picture. We built a budget using Rocket Money so she could see everything clearly for the first time. I taught her my Emotional Spending Inventory tool a way of connecting emotional triggers to spending habits so she could catch the urge before it became a purchase. And we worked on the identity underneath all of it who she was becoming, not just what she was spending.
The shopping urges disappeared. She stopped stepping into stores and browsing online. She shifted from seeing money as something to escape into, to seeing financial stability as a form of self-care. She paid off the debt. And then she started her own business.
