🥒 A Simple BLW Tip I Still Use Today
One of the best tips I learned came from pediatric feeding specialist Melanie Potock, and it’s something I’ve been doing with my nanny babies for years.
If your baby has become a little “biter” and already has several teeth, try making small, shallow indentations on firmer fruits and vegetables like cucumbers, peaches, pears, or nectarines.
Those little grooves can:
🥒 Give tiny hands a better grip.
👶 Help babies bite off smaller, more manageable pieces.
💛 Encourage confident self-feeding.
I even used this trick with peaches today!
Every baby develops differently, so always:
✔️ Make sure your child is showing signs of readiness for solids.
✔️ Follow safe food preparation guidelines.
✔️ Check with your pediatrician or healthcare provider before starting solids.
As a Baby-Led Weaning nanny for the past 12 years, I love sharing practical tips that have worked for the families I’ve cared for. Sometimes it’s the little things that make mealtime feel a lot less stressful.
Have you tried this technique before? I’d love to hear your experience! 🥑💚
