Are laws in The Gambia meant only for common and poor people?

~ Do you know that a murderer, who’s from a wealthy family, was recently released from prison? He spent less than two years in Mile 2.

~ Do you know that the young man who killed Omar Seckan on the Bertil Harding Highway is living free as we speak. The case was killed by the court.

~ Do you know that the Lebanese businessmen who smuggled 48 blocks of co***ne into the country were never taken to court. The case was killed by the AG Chambers.

~ Do you know that a prominent lawyer who was accused of ra**ng his own step daughter was never taken to court? The case was killed at the get-go.

~ Do you know that there are thousands of Gambians who have cases at the courts that are dragging and dragging for many years now? They keep adjourning and rescheduling the hearings over foolish reasons.

~ Do you know that ordinary Gambians are no longer allowed to question the court or lodge a complaint against a judge or magistrate? If you do, a contempt of court might be issued against you.

~ Do you know that some of our judges and magistrates are dangerously corrupt. The civil or criminal cases involving rich and influential person are not punished only poor people are punished.

~ Do you know that there are judges and magistrates who coerce women who have cases in their court into s*x? There is a judge who married a Senegalese woman who appeared before him, but the lady dumped him after the case.

Why should the poor suffer and the rich and influential get away with their crimes? It’s enough now!!

Please, let’s all gather at the Bundung Court tomorrow at 2pm. Our judicial system needs a complete overhaul. Let the fight begin!
