Happy New Year! To kick off 2020, I am excited to officially announce that after almost 9 years CBLLC is now HERO Events Group, a new partnership between myself and another incredible, experienced event professional, Layla McGinnis. This evolution is a long time in the works and will allow for increased bandwidth and (wo)man-power while we continue to grow our business with a focus on hospitality, event production, relationship-building and organization.

Layla and I met nearly a decade ago in New York City and have worked together on projects ever since (Eat Drink SF, BottleRock). With a combined 25 years of event and hospitality experience, we finally decided to make our partnership official and launch HERO Events Group. Together, we aim to harness our experience and skills to create an event production agency that executes stand-out experiences for food, beverage, and lifestyle clients. With a network of experienced event professionals around the country, we will also be able to offer services such as, photography, graphic design, programming and content creation, social media management, and culinary talent acquisition and management.

We are excited to once again be involved in StarChefs International Chefs Congress, October 22 to 24. The theme this year, "Cook Your Culture," has allowed us to bring in lots of new voices, cuisines, and conversations. We'll be talking immigration with Jose Andres, pairing wines with Senagalese food in the Somm Slam, showcasing the Filipino food mafia on the main stage, teaching folks how to make chittlins, looking at successful kitchen cultures, and revisiting French classics like quenelle de brochet.
