This video provides an excellent description of the SSBN and SSGN Submarine-deterrent forces we protected during my 22 years in the Navy Reserves. What many never realize is that this was hardly a “part-time” reserve assignment. The planning, preparation, and ex*****on of real-world missions consumed countless hours beyond drill weekends, often overlapping with my demanding work for the NYPD/ FBI task force, and the US State Department.

It’s difficult to fully put into words the pride I feel in our Navy—the unmatched technology of these warships, the gravity of their mission, and, above all, the intelligence, professionalism, and dedication of the sailors entrusted to operate them.
