The story of Italian ingenuity in design.

Italy is home to some of the oldest and most magnificent buildings in the word. These buildings were built long before air conditioning was invented. As time went on, air conditioning became more and more common, and over the past few decades it has become a necessity.

In 1994 Oreste Bottaro, CEO of Innova, dismayed by the sight of unsightly air conditioners ruining the exteriors of the beautiful buildings, imagined an air conditioner that would not require an outdoor unit.

After years of design, engineering and testing, the “double duct” system was born. This system is so named because one duct was utilized to bring in cool air, while the other expelled hot air. This revolution in design made these units not just close to invisible, but more efficient as well. The only visual sign of the unit are two small holes on the exterior of the building.

Today, these unique systems have been installed in stately palaces, retail shops, as well as family homes and hotels across the globe. As technology has improved so have our air conditioners. They now feature super high-efficiency inverter compressors, are library quiet, and are just 6.5” deep. They offer unrivaled reliability and are incredibly easy to maintain.
