Through thoughtful spatial planning, we transformed a bedroom that felt cold and disconnected into a cohesive, inviting primary suite. Two equally sized closet walls became a dedicated dressing room, creating an organic transition into a brighter bathroom. Natural light now fills the space, bringing warmth and openness to a suite our clients look forward to unwinding in.

No mudroom? No problem. With the right furniture and intentional storage solutions, even the smallest corner can become a hardworking drop zone: bringing calm and order to the back-to-school chaos.

Designed for family life, we created an organic flow between the home’s gathering spaces, allowing everyday moments to unfold naturally from one room to the next.

The best transformations add new life to a home without taking away its story. Built in 1937, the Briarcliff House was reimagined with intention. Layered with timeless textures and a fireplace focal point, the balanced and mirrored layout of the living room is designed to encourage conversation. The result is a space that feels fresh, yet connected to the character of the home.

The most memorable homes tell a personal story.
We love mixing inherited pieces, like these gorgeous stools, with new selections to create interiors that feel layered, authentic, and uniquely reflective of the people who live there.

A well-designed bedroom always has a moment like this.

It works because we don’t just design for aesthetics — we plan the flow of the space first. Every view is always considered.

Quiet corners are where a room really reveals itself.

Layered textures, warm woods, and soft drapery create a moment that feels effortless yet intentional — a place to take off your shoes, pause, linger, and reset.

Sometimes the smallest design decisions carry the whole room.✨

Today feels like the perfect day to reintroduce myself. My name is Leah Plevrites and I am the founder and creative director of studioBIG.

Many of you know me for my commercial design work — restaurants, hospitality spaces, and retail projects. But residential design has always been just as much a part of what I do.

I love creating homes that feel deeply personal to the people living in them — spaces that support everyday life while still feeling thoughtful and beautiful.

As a woman in interior architecture and design, building a career in this field has been both challenging and incredibly rewarding. I’m grateful for the clients, collaborators, and other women in this industry who continue to inspire me. 💪🏻✨

So if you’re new here, welcome.
And if you’ve been here for a while, thank you for following along as my work continues to evolve.

Happy International Women’s Day. 🤍

You’ve seen the opening act… now for the headliner!✨

This powder room proves that the smallest spaces are often the most fun to design and leave the biggest impression—where bold choices, layered lighting, and beautiful materials come together to create a true moment.

Guess in the comments what the existing shower transformed into? And check out our previous post for the answer!

Mudroom design ideas worth saving for your next renovation.

This custom mudroom was designed to bring order to the daily routine—with integrated storage, warm brass accents, and deep navy millwork that grounds the space.

Backpacks, sneakers, and everyday chaos finally have a place.

Thoughtful storage above keeps seasonal gear tucked away, while the bench and baskets make daily comings and goings easy for the whole family.

Tucked just beyond the mudroom is a small powder room that adds a bit of pattern and personality to the entry.

Functional first, but always beautiful.

Save this for future mudroom inspiration.
