Position Overview
The Systems Architect will support the Statewide Financial System (SFS) within the Enterprise Service Automation (ESA) Bureau of the SFS Business Solutions Division. The role focuses on defining system architecture for complex enterprise financial systems and delivering comprehensive business analysis in a PeopleSoft Financials environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Define system architecture including components, integrations, interfaces, and technology stack.
• Perform end-to-end business analysis for SFS process areas.
• Prepare detailed software requirements and functional specifications.
• Write and execute test scripts for functional and regression testing.
• Retrieve, analyze, and validate data using medium-to-complex SQL.
• Liaise between business users and technical development teams.
• Prepare and present solution options, analysis findings, and design decisions to management.
• Support special projects and SFS initiatives as assigned.
• Participate in knowledge transfer, job shadowing, and documentation development.
• Comply with NYS mandated training and SFS internal training protocols.
Mandatory Qualification
Defines the architecture of computerized systems, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements, including component design, interactions, interfaces, and supporting technologies.
84+ months of experience performing business analysis (functional design, requirements, process modeling, test script creation/execution).
60+ months experience in software analysis for PeopleSoft 9.2 Financials ERP (HCM/Campus Solutions not acceptable).
24+ months as a functional analyst supporting:
Project Costing
Customer Contracts
Funds Distribution
Federal Grant Awards
Including experience with Federal Grant management and downstream use of Project data (e.g., bond reimbursement).
12+ months supporting three or more PeopleSoft Financials modules, such as:
Purchasing
Accounts Payable
Billing
Accounts Receivable
Travel & Expense
General Ledger
Commitment Control
eBill Payment
Provide module-specific details.
Technical Environment
Software: Oracle PeopleSoft Financials, HP ALM 11, QTP
Hardware: Unix-based systems
Data Skills: SQL (medium to complex)"
