The Council of Fashion Designers of Scandinavia (CFDS) is a New York based not-for-profit trade association for Scandinavia’s foremost designers of womenswear, menswear, jewelry, accessories and textiles. The CFDS mission is to strengthen the influence of Scandinavian designers in the US. Specifically, our goal is increase awareness and recognition of Scandinavian fashion design, to help introduce
brands to the US market and to help them grow commercially. The CFDS high points are the annual high profile Fashion Show, Awards Gala and Trade Showroom held during New York Fashion Weeks. Additionally, CFDS supports designers through educational seminars, networking events, retailer and advisor access and much more. CFDS membership is open to companies and individuals in the fashion industries of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden (including the Faroe Islands and Greenland). The majority of the members comprise of fashion brands and retailers, and extend beyond to press and patrons.
