5 Web Design Tips Every Cleaning Business Needs

Hey cleaning pros!

If you're running a cleaning business, your website is often the first impression potential clients get. Here's how to make it count:

1. Keep It Simple & Clean (just like your work!)
Don't overwhelm visitors with clutter. Put your key message front and center—what you do, where you serve, and how to book. Add a big, clear "Get a Quote" or "Book Now" button.

2. Guide Their Eyes
Make your business name and services stand out. Use bigger, bolder text for what matters most. Think: your headline, your main services, and that all-important phone number.

3. Make It Easy to Read
Use simple fonts, high contrast (dark text on light backgrounds), and keep paragraphs short. Remember: people are scanning, not reading every word.

4. Navigation Should Be Crystal Clear
Simple menu: Home, Services, About, Contact. Link your logo back to the homepage. Put your phone number and email in the footer so it's always easy to find.

5. Mobile Is Everything
Most people will find you on their phones. Make sure your site looks great and loads fast on mobile. Test it yourself!

Bonus Tip: Add before/after photos of your work nothing sells cleaning services like visual proof!

How One Cleaning Business Went from $0 to $1M in 3 Years (And What You Can Learn From It)
I recently came across an incredible success story that every cleaning business owner needs to hear about.

A cleaning business owner started with literally just a few hundred dollars after losing his job. Today? He's running a multi-state operation serving 450+ clients weekly and on track to hit $1.5M in revenue.

Here's what caught my attention:

◑The pricing game-changer: He built a custom pricing calculator on his website that eliminates the need for estimates. Clients get instant, transparent quotes based on their specific needs. This automation alone saved him countless hours while increasing conversions.

◑The Yelp strategy: He cracked the code on getting reviews to stick (hint: it's not just about asking for 5-star reviews). His company hit #1 on Yelp in Seattle using a specific approach to review requests.

◑Lean marketing that works: Only spending $2,000/month on ads (primarily Google & Yelp) while doing nearly $1M in revenue. That's a marketing budget of just 0.2% of revenue!

◑ The scalability secret: When asked what would happen if he increased his ad spend to $10K/month, his answer? 800+ clients per week. He's literally turning DOWN growth because he has the systems to scale whenever he wants.
The biggest takeaway for cleaning business owners?

Your website isn't just a digital business card it's your most powerful employee. This automated pricing calculator alone transformed his business operations.

I've seen firsthand how the right website tools can be the difference between working IN your business versus ON your business.

Are You Running a Cleaning Business... or Just a Cleaning JOB?

Let’s get real for a second, cleaning pros. 🧹
I was just checking out a great breakdown on the "traps" most cleaning business owners fall into, and it hit the nail on the head. Most of us start our businesses because we want freedom—more time with family, more money in the bank, and the pride of building something our own.

But then... reality sets in. You’re the one answering the phones at 8 PM. You’re the one covering a shift because a cleaner called out. You’re the one stressed about whether you’re charging enough to actually make a profit after taxes and supplies.
Sound familiar? If you feel like you’re stuck on a hamster wheel, here are the three big shifts you need to make right now to actually SCALE:

Stop Competing on Price: If your only selling point is being the "cheapest in town," you’re in a race to the bottom. High-growth businesses focus on value and reliability. People will pay a premium for a service that actually shows up and does what they say they’ll do.

Systems are Your Best Friend: If the business stops when you take a day off, you don't have a business—you have a job. You need a repeatable system for hiring, training, and quality control.
Know Your Numbers: You can’t grow what you don't measure. Do you know exactly what it costs you to acquire one new customer? Do you know your profit margin per hour?

I’ve seen so many talented owners get burnt out because they tried to do everything themselves. Scaling is about moving from "The Cleaner" to "The CEO."

I want to hear from you: What is the #1 thing holding you back from doubling your revenue this year? Is it finding good staff? Marketing? Or just not having enough hours in the day?
Drop a comment below—let’s troubleshoot it together! 👇

How I Helped a Cleaning Business Owner Stop Working 12-Hour Days and Take a 10-Day Maldives Vacation

A lot of business owners think a “new website” is just about looking professional.

When I sat down with Jose from All Inclusive Care, we aimed for something much bigger:
👉 Operational Freedom

The Challenge: The “Technician’s Trap”
When Jose and I first started working together, he was an Owner-Operator in the truest sense. Even though he had a team, he was still the bottleneck:
• He was on-site for every complex job
• He was the only one who knew the “secret sauce” for high-end clients
• If he wasn’t there, the quality dropped
He was a prisoner to his own success.
He wanted to grow, but he couldn’t see how to do it without working 12–20 hour days.

The Strategy: Building a “Digital Nervous System”
As his digital partner, I didn’t just give him a “Contact Us” page.
We built a systemized engine that the whole team could run without him.
Here’s what we implemented:
1. The Video Training Vault
I set up a restricted Team Portal on his site.
I told Jose: “Next time you’re on a job, just record it on your phone.”
He recorded 15 short videos.
My team took those raw videos, edited them, added subtitles, and hosted them in a private training area for his staff.
Now, new and existing team members can learn “Jose’s way” on demand.

2. Job Management Integration
We integrated his website with a robust Job Management System.
Now, when a lead comes in through the site, it doesn’t just sit in an inbox.
It automatically triggers a workflow that his VA can handle without Jose’s input.
No more chasing emails. No more missed opportunities.

3. The Automated Reporting Loop
We built a system where staff can upload Before & After photos and site reports directly from their mobile devices.
This means Jose can “verify” a job from his couch (or a beach) in 5 minutes…
instead of driving 2 hours to a site just to check the work.

The Result: The “Maldives Test”
Last year, Jose put our systems to the ultimate test.
He went to the Maldives for 10 days.
Old Jose:
Would have spent the whole trip on the phone, stressed, putting out fires.
Systemized Jose:
• Spent only 30 minutes a day on “urgent” items
• His team followed the video systems we organized
• Jobs got done
• Clients were happy
• He came back to a pile of invoices ready to be sent

The “Aha!” Moment
Recently, Jose had a complex job that required specific technical steps.
Normally, he would have gone himself.
Instead, he sent a staff member who had never done that task before.
They watched the training videos we hosted, followed the checklist, and completed the job perfectly.
Jose never had to leave his home office.

The Bottom Line
I don’t just build websites.
I build business freedom.
By turning Jose’s brain into a digital asset, he now has 4 vans on the road and is planning a 30-day trip to Europe, confident that his business will actually grow while he’s gone.

Is Your Business “Owner-Dependent”?
If you can’t leave your business for a week without it falling apart, you don’t have a business — you have a job.
This month, I’m looking for one more service-based business owner to help systemize and scale.

👉 Drop a “SYSTEMS” in the comments if you want to see how we can do this for your brand.

Want to know why your competitors are getting all the roofing jobs while you’re sitting by the phone?

I’ve been working with roofers for years, and I keep seeing the same pattern…
The guys who are CRUSHING IT aren’t always the best roofers.

They’re just the ones homeowners actually FIND when they Google:
👉 “roof repair near me”
👉 at 11pm
👉 with water dripping through their ceiling 😬

Here’s what’s actually working for my roofing clients right now

1. Mobile-First Websites That Convert
When someone’s roof is leaking, they’re on their phone, not a laptop.

Your site must:
~ Load under 3 seconds
~ Make calling or booking dead simple
~ One client went from 2–3 leads/week → 15+ leads/week just by fixing their mobile experience.

2. Local SEO That Gets You Found
I create location-specific pages for every city my clients serve.
📍 One Dallas roofer now ranks: • #1 for “roof repair in Plano”
• #1 for “roof replacement in Frisco”
More pages = more rankings = more leads.

3. The Review System (This Is Huge)
Most roofers just hope customers leave reviews.
I build a review system that automatically asks right after job completion.

📈 Result: • 12 Google reviews → 150+ reviews in 8 months

4. Email Marketing That Actually Works
One simple seasonal email: 📧 “Is your roof ready for storm season?”

Result: $47,000 in maintenance & repair work
(from past customers who forgot they existed)

5. Social Proof Everywhere
People trust what they can see.
That means:
📸 Before/after photos
🎥 Video testimonials
🔧 Live job updates
Trust builds FAST.

📊 Real Numbers From a Recent Client:
⇨ 340% increase in website traffic (6 months)
⇨ 8 leads/month → 35+ leads/month
⇨ Booked 6 weeks in advance (was scrambling before)

The truth?
Most roofing websites look like they’re from 2005 and do NOTHING to generate leads.
Meanwhile, competitors are winning simply because they show up first on Google.

If you’re still relying on word-of-mouth and yard signs, you’re leaving SERIOUS money on the table.
I’m putting together some free resources on digital marketing for service businesses.

👇 Drop a comment or send me a message and I’ll send them your way.
Who else here is tired of losing jobs to competitors who just get the online game?
Let’s fix that.

Most people try ads before they understand what their message even is. Then they blame the ad instead of the lack of identity. If you can make organic content that converts strangers, ads simply amplify what already works. Ads are a multiplier, not a replacement for clarity.
