COMPLIANCE ALERT: Effective November 1, 2022, the New York City Human Rights Law will require NYC employers to disclose wage range information for all advertised NYC jobs, promotions, and transfer opportunities.

--> Job advertisements must include a salary / hourly range (lowest to highest) for each position reflecting what employers anticipate compensating ‘in good faith’

--> This applies to postings for a job, promotion, or transfer that will be performed in NYC -- it does not apply to positions that can’t or will not be performed in NYC

--> Full-time and part-time positions, internships, and independent contractors are included

💸 Pay transparency is a positive step towards pay equity, as it is proven to help mitigate systemic wage gaps for women and minorities.

💡Operators will need to think systematically about their compensation structures, many for the first time.
