Senior leadership team members representing the Community Health Center of Richmond, Inc. (CHCR), including Constance Brown-Bellamy, Chief Strategy Officer, and Robert Robinson, Senior Director of Intergovernmental Affairs, attended the National Association of Community Health Center's Annual CHI - Community Health Conference held in Las Vegas, Nevada. CHI is the premiere gathering of the nation’s Community Health Centers, the largest network of primary care providers in the nation. Among the sessions offerings was a moderated panel featuring CHCR CEO, Dr. Henry Thompson entitled, "Bridging Communities Through Partnership with the Divine Nine to Advance Health Care for All".

This session explored how NACHC’s advocacy, training, and technical assistance (T/TA) initiatives can align with D9 community engagement structures to address persistent barriers in preventive care, chronic disease management, and non-clinical factors of health. Participants learned about successful D9–FQHC collaborations such as CHCR's Brothers For Mothers Breastfeeding Education Initiave and existing infrastructure for community engagement and partneships with selected Alumni and Collegiate Chapters from one of the nation's oldest Black fraternal organizations. Partnerships such as these serve to amplify outreach during national health observances, voter registration drives, and local health access campaigns. This session also highlighted strategies for co-developing responsive education, volunteer engagement, and advocacy activities that extend the reach of CHCs into populations with historically limited access.

Excited to attend the CHI Conference, the premiere gathering of the nation’s Community Health Centers, the largest network of primary care providers in the nation. This conference will provide attendees with the latest in science, education, practice, and policy that health centers need to stay competitive and financially stable.

Had the opportunity to attend the NJ Kickoff of the Black Womens Health Imperative Summit: From Insight to Action on Monday, June 1st in New Brunswick.

This private strategy convening brought together cross-sector leaders for a high-impact working session — dedicated to health equity across New Jersey. Designed as a working brunch combining networking, framing remarks, and facilitated strategy discussions, the sessions were collaborative, action-oriented, and grounded in the real work happening in communities across the state.

The networking, conversations and ideas were empowering and I can't wait to continue the work.

Our CEO, Constance Brown- Bellamy participated in a Black Maternal Health Week Fireside Chat hosted by Partnerships for Community Wellness.
The theme of the chat was, "Honoring the Resistance, Resilience, Joy, and Possibility of Black Birthing People."

Dr. Jazmin Rivera, Chief Program & Strategy Officer of Partnerships pulled together a diverse group of Black women across various personal, professional, and civic roles on Staten Island and beyond to talk about these issues and ways that Black birthing people can access resources and find support.

Her vast network in the public health sector and her strategic mindset make her an invaluable asset to our team.

A proud alumna of Howard University and an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Constance is deeply committed to public service. She is passionate about being an advocate for the community, channeling her skills as a strategist to elevate the voices and needs of those we serve.

Outside of work, Constance is a proud mother and wife who enjoys exploring her love of food, culture, and the arts. Happy to meet with the Community Health Center of Richmond to discuss the Healthy Start Reauthorization Act of 2025, legislation that I am leading to continue supporting maternal health programs. This program has delivered more than $2 million in the past 2 years to my district to support woman, infants and families in low-income communities. I look forward to continuing working to get this legislation across the finish line.
