It's live.

Ow, My Ears is out now and it's pay what you want, including free.

This one's for every groomer who has ever turned the music up a little louder to get through the day. Who found the dryer calming. Who learned from people who weren't wearing protection either so neither did you.

You don't have to give up the music. You don't have to choose between protecting your ears and keeping your sanity. This guide shows you how to do both.

Two kinds of sound enter the same ears every day.

The kind that wrecks you.
The kind that saves you.

For a lot of us, those lines have always been blurry.

Tomorrow I’m dropping something I’ve been sitting with for a long time. A guide about what we’re actually hearing at work, what it costs us, and what to do about it.

It’s for groomers. It’s for anyone who has ever used sound to regulate, survive, or just get through the day.

Pay what you want. Free if you need it.

More tomorrow.

I didn't grow up knowing the name for what was happening to me.

Certain sounds made my body want to leave the room. I didn't have language for it. I just put headphones on and kept going.

When I started grooming, the dryer noise actually helped. It drowned out everything that triggered me. For the first time I felt calm in a loud environment.

Our relationship with sound is complicated. It always has been.

More on that soon.

Nobody in my first salon wore PPE. The people who trained me didn't wear it. I didn't ask questions. I just did what they did.

25 years later and 12 in the van, I know exactly what I was breathing the whole time.

Hair. Dander. Bacteria. Shampoo particles. Spray residue. Every session, windows up, dryer going. The salon isn't ventilated. The van definitely isn't. It's a snow globe and we're in it.

The information exists. It just never really made it to us. Even in continuing education, the one person genuinely talking about it was Teri Becker DiMarino in her classes. And as powerful as her voice was, it still wasn't enough to get us all to put our masks on.

I made this guide because we deserve to know. What masks actually work. What gloves do what. How to support your lungs from the inside out. What I started doing in 2020 that changed everything.

It's pay what you want. Free if you need it.

Genuinely curious when did you first start thinking about what you were breathing at work? Was there a moment, or did it just kind of slowly dawn on you?

Nothing humbles you like realizing every blade, shear, and tool you own needs sharpening at the SAME TIME. Including back ups.
Like cool cool cool… guess I’ll just casually invest in my entire setup again 🙃
This job isn’t just physical, it’s a constant reinvestment.

Hi y’all.

As promised, I wanted to make sure I was giving back to this community in a real way, not just talking about it.

So… Ow My Back is officially here.

It’s my way of giving BACK (yeah, I went there 😌).

This is a free ebook built for groomers who are tired, sore, overworked, and still showing up every day. It covers the stuff we don’t talk about enough… how we move, how we work, how we take care of our bodies so we can actually keep doing what we love.

No fluff. No gatekeeping. Just real, usable information.

Download it, use it, share it with someone whose back is screaming too.

You don’t have to earn this one. It’s yours.

🖤

Hot take.

You’re not late.
The route changed.

Hotter take:
your back pain isn’t just how you stand…
it’s how you cook.

I’m in the kitchen with this one.
Chefing something up fresh for y’all.

3 things I wish someone told me when I started grooming. 1. Your policies aren't mean. They're missing. 2. The more you explain, the more they negotiate. 3. Clarity is kindness. Consistency builds trust.
