Arches and winches added to diesel "Cats" moved thousands of logs at Camp Five in the 30s and 40s.

Camp no. 5 was located east of Schafer Creek in Grays Harbor County and could be reached only by the logging railroad for many years. It was in existence from the 1930s to 1946, when the residents were moved to Grisdale Camp eight miles north.

Logging is the cutting, skidding, on-site processing, and loading of trees or logs onto trucks. Logging is the process of cutting trees, processing them, and moving them to a location for transport. It is the beginning of a supply chain that provides raw material for many products societies worldwide use for housing, construction, energy, and consumer paper products. Logging systems are also used to manage forests, reduce the risk of wildfires, and restore ecosystem functions.

Loggers are stewards of the land, we take pride in the work we do and strive to leave this land in better shape when we leave than it was when we started.

At Brown Chapel Logging, LLC we are currently working the β€œMJ2” tract in abbeville SC. This is a privately own timber tract. We are conducting final harvest operations along with quail habitat enhancement thinning. We are harvesting all of the mature timber which was planted in 1982. We are also removing all of the non merchantable trees which are being chipped with the Peterson 4300. The use of a fuel chipper produces a clean finished product and maximizing the use of all wood that is normally left laying.

These results are a direct reflection of our employees. These guys work together like a well oiled machine. Thanks to all the guys at Brown Chapel Logging, LLC for their hard work.
