When your process calls for large pours or filled materials, your dispensing system needs to deliver steady, repeatable flow while keeping production moving.

The EXACT Model 9450 Single-Acting (9450SA) is built for production metering of two-part reactive resins, including formulations with abrasive fillers. With up to 1800 cc per cylinder charge (depending on ratio), it’s a strong fit for big shots—or for running many smaller shots with fewer reciprocating cycles.

A practical bonus for filled materials: you can “deadhead” the cylinders at shift end to help prevent filler fallout and clogged ports/lines.

EXACT is working with an aerospace customer on an exciting vacuum dispensing project: automation and heated platen dispensing inside a vacuum chamber.

They’re currently qualifying resin systems by premixing, degassing, and vacuum-siphoning material into the chamber to evaluate performance. After they select the best resin for their process, EXACT will design and build a custom meter-mix-dispense (MMD) system engineered specifically for that material. Following FAT, our technician will be onsite to complete integration and provide training.

A Fortune 500 manufacturer of potting motors was experiencing filler settling and material drop-out with their existing dispensing approach. Because the legacy system required heating the entire dispensing path to move a viscous, filled material, the material thinned too much—leading to filler separation, clogged lines, and blocked dispense ports.

EXACT engineered a point-of-dispense heating solution that keeps the bulk material at room temperature to maintain filler suspension, then applies heat only immediately before dispensing. Using a high-wattage heater, the dispensed material can reach 150°F or higher right at the outlet while the rest of the system remains at ambient temperature.

Less clogging. More consistent flow. More reliable potting.

A local customer who purchased equipment nearly 20-years ago is taking on a new production part that required dispensing a new material. Competely satisfied with their old equipment (which is still in production!) they reached out to EXACT for this new project. With this customers familarity with their old system EXACT was able to provide the latest and greatest updated version of this same system. Adding new technology features to a tried and true design EXACT provided exactly what the customer needed.

While we don't get a lot of MAINE customers we LOVE to see it!!

Today we’re celebrating the retirement of Eric Scherer, a valued leader at EXACT Dispensing Systems.

Eric joined EXACT (formerly Sheepscot Machine Works) in 1995 as an assembly technician and, over the years, advanced through the ranks to become General Manager in 2021. Eric earned that trust through his steady leadership, deep product and system knowledge, and a genuine understanding of our industry and customers. Just as important, he led with respect for people—building strong teams, mentoring others along the way, and creating the kind of workplace culture that makes a lasting impact.

In the spirit of long-term success, Eric recently stepped aside from the GM role to make room for the next generation of leadership.

Now, as a new grandparent, Eric is looking forward to more time with his wife, children, grandchild, and faithful dog Otis—along with settling into their lake home in Maine.

Sales Support Specialist | 7 years at EXACT

Sam is one of those people who can jump in wherever he’s needed. He supports customers onsite and over the phone, keeps inventory and parts moving, helps the shop floor with work orders, and supports machine builds/upgrades and design planning.

And Sam’s especially proud of the training he’s gained here—learning real production skills like welding and hands-on tool & machine work, plus building ERP system expertise that connects the shop floor to the data and planning side of the operation.

“It’s like learning the ‘brain’ behind the operation—bridging the hands-on shop floor work with the data and planning that keeps things running smoothly,” stated Sam.
