Richards Machine has been a supporting partner of the New Britain High School Manufacturing Academy since conception. Through partnering with the MET Academy, we are building and training our workforce while offering opportunity for NBHS Students to explore lucrative careers in the Aerospace Industry. To date Richards is proud to announce that we have hired 3 full time and 2 part time students directly out of New Britain High School.

Dorothy Weber, owner of Richards Machine Tool Co. Inc., said the Newington company is introducing students who have studied finance to manufacturing work.

The company employs about 20 workers and is always looking for more. “It’s a good problem,” she said.

At an annual gathering for aerospace manufacturers, executives voice concerns about a familiar, chronic problem: a lack of qualified workers.
