We recently brought Peninsula business and community leaders together for a legislative roundtable focused on DEAL — Defense, Energy, Aerospace and Logistics — the four sectors where Hampton Roads has tremendous competitive advantages.

With Doug Smith of the Hampton Roads Alliance joining us, we discussed a simple question:

If DEAL is where Hampton Roads intends to compete and win, what does Virginia need to do to help us get there?

We heard a range of perspectives on what Virginia should DO, STOP, CHANGE and INVEST IN to strengthen our workforce, infrastructure, innovation and supply chains.

These conversations help shape the Virginia Peninsula Chamber’s legislative priorities and advocacy agenda.

On Tuesday, September 8th, Heather Hughes Photography hosted our monthly Coffee Connection, bringing together local business professionals for a morning of networking, connection, and exciting updates.

During the event, attendees had the opportunity to meet and connect with fellow local professionals while hearing some exciting announcements from Heather. She shared details about her collaboration with VA250, including an upcoming art exhibit featuring portraits of local families photographed in historic locations. The exhibit will be on display at the Downing-Gross Cultural Arts Center next July through August, alongside personal stories being collected by SEEQ. These stories will also be shared online and with the Virginia Library.

Heather also announced the Glow Garden Party Experience, taking place on October 17th, featuring special portrait sessions.
