Many veterans may not realize that if equal evidence supports and opposes a medical issue being deemed service-connected, the decision should always favor the veteran. It's true! This is stated in 38 CFR 3.102. Unfortunately, there are numerous cases where the VA does not apply this regulation correctly.
There is currently an appeal case at the Supreme Court addressing this issue:

The Supreme Court must decide what Congress meant when it clarified a law that required the Court of Veterans Appeals to determine whether the VA followed an obligation to rule in favor of the veteran amid conflicting medical opinions.

PROJECT 2025: Danger to Veteran Benefits

After coming across numerous social media posts discussing Project 2025 and VA disability, I felt responsible for uncovering the truth. After thorough research, here's what I found:

Project 2025 aims to streamline the claims process. Still, it also suggests that the VA may be too lenient on some conditions that do not warrant service connection, thus eliminating those disabilities completely.

Project 2025, if implemented, could pose significant challenges for FUTURE VETERANS in qualifying for disability benefits and healthcare. While EXISTING VETERANS won't see their benefits cut, their monthly compensation could be REDUCED due to the exclusion of specific proposed disabilities from the VA Schedule for Rating Disabilities. This is particularly worrying for veterans who have been deemed UNEMPLOYABLE.

Project 2025 proposes changes to Community Care to tighten eligibility qualifications, making it harder to access quality care.
