Rest in Peace:

Allen Mills (Lost and Found),
Pat Enright (Nashville Bluegrass Band and O Brother fame) and Barbara Martin Stephens (the first country music female booking agent on music row in the ‘60s and mother of Jimmy Martin’s children).

All three passed today. Today was a huge loss in bluegrass and country music.

Both gentlemen were just that, and I was honored to have been able to work with both.

Ms Stephens took time to visit with and encourage me. Her life was full and impactful and has a book about her life with Jimmy and work in Nashville - “Don't Give Your Heart to a Rambler: My Life with Jimmy Martin, the King of Bluegrass”.

Please pray for their families and the Bluegrass music family.

Rest in peace, Ronnie Bowman.

You may not have known him, but you knew him through writing songs like “It’s Getting Better All the Time” by Brooks and Dunn and a ton of others by the best in the business. But he was known as family and a friend to anyone who knew him.

I’ll never forget when I was running sound and he decided to debut the above song almost 20 years ago with just his voice and a guitar. It was a moment in time where one viscerally experieces a true gift from God on someone’s life. Ronnie was a 3 time IBMA male vocalist and won several songs and albums of the year.

This song he sang often, and is my favorite of his.

Please pray for his wife, Garnet, his family and our Bluegrass and Country musc family world wide. 💔

This should be a warning to all who create. Be very careful using shortcuts. Because the pain is part of the journey.

I was blessed to learn from the best in several genres in music, and will always respect those that came before me. I will not forget what I learned in those little houses and old studios in downtown Nashville that are now gone - and am doing my best to pass on that legacy.
