Here in the far reaches of Northern Vermont our orchard blooms later than almost anywhere else in the country. This is late May.
Apple varieties in order, Wickson, Rubinette, Kerr Crab
It's a short, challenging growing season, and we make it tougher on our trees with our Holistic Management program. From the day these trees were planted, most back to 2008 - 10, they have had to fend for themselves and live in concert with all the other organisms, from Swallowtail butterflies and dandelions to apple scan and sawfly. The juice from their fruit is deeply flavorful and complex. You can taste it in these two ciders made exclusively from our own little patch of miracles:
π Cinderella's Slipper 2024 - a dry, still cider, nothing added, nothing taken away, just the fruit
πBenjamin 2023 - petillant naturel, dry, naturally sparkling
