This month, we are proud to celebrate James Bruewer, whose 17-year journey at GBS embodies sustained technical excellence, curiosity and a commitment to life-long learning.

An Ohio native, James began his IT career in 2000 at Miami University's Hamilton Campus help desk. He joined GBS in 2009 where he progressed from a service desk professional to Senior Service Desk Supervisor.

James is foundational to our success in IT, deploying his expertise in cybersecurity, pre-sales and senior field engineering as well as in infrastructure and network design. His role demands adaptability and operational readiness, so he apprecaite's GBS's emphasis on continuous learning. James's future-focused mindset helps him meet new challenges each day.

Outside of work, James enjoys visiting amusement parks and going on hiking adventures with his wife of 20 years, his two sons and two dogs. He's also looks forward to nurturing his son's growing interest in technology. Around the office, James is known for his love of 1980s music, classic comedies, Monty Python, Mel Brooks films, Lord of the Rings and Star Wars.

We are grateful for James's leadership, dedication and the lasting impact he continues to make at GBS.

Congratulations to the Emery Theater for winning the Preservation Champion Award! We had a great experience collaborating with Terrex and the Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati as the restoration project’s technology partner and we're proud of the work we were able to accomplish together. Integrating immersive, state-of-the-art technology while preserving the theater’s historic character was an exciting challenge that produced unforgettable results.

Congratulations to The Emery Theater, recipient of the Cincinnati Preservation 2026 Preservation Excellence Awards – Preservation Champion Award for the extraordinary restoration and revitalization of one of Cincinnati’s most iconic historic theaters.

Led by GBBN Architects and The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati, this transformative project reimagined the historic Emery Theater as a modern performing arts destination while carefully preserving the grandeur and architectural significance that have made the building a cultural landmark for generations.

GBS was honored to support the City of Florence, Kentucky - Government's Annual Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony yesterday. We provided live streaming of the event to help those who could not attend in person take part in the commemoration. We remain deeply grateful for those who gave their lives in service to our nation and it was a privilege to join Florence and our entire community in remembrance.

⚠️ Emerging scam alert: More hackers are impersonating CAPTCHA verification tools to install malware on your device.

Cybercriminals have been taking advantage of our familiarity with CAPTCHA tasks to install malware on devices. The most common trick involves presenting users with a fake CAPTCHA that asks them to complete additional verification. The page automatically copies a malicious command to your keyboard, then prompts you to run it on the Windows Run dialog to install an information-stealing program. Hackers have developed several variations on this scam, but you can mitigate your risk with a few best practices.

🛡️ How to protect yourself from fake CAPTCHA scams:
• Never follow manual instructions. Legitimate CAPTCHAs won’t ask you to copy-paste or run scripts, download files, or enable notifications

• Question the unusual. Check for and avoid suspicious-looking website domains. If a CAPTCHA appears on a site that doesn’t typically require one or asks you to perform additional steps, stop immediately.

• Keep security software updated. Reliable antivirus software can help catch and block malicious scripts before they do any damage.

• Stay informed. Knowing how scams like Fake CAPTCHA work helps you recognize red flags before falling for them.
