When the details are this intricate, every repair matters.

This Chinese cloisonné jardiniere came to Trefler’s with areas of cracked and missing enamel. Before any color work could begin, the damaged areas were carefully sealed and filled to create a stable foundation for the repair.

Our team then worked by hand to color the repaired areas, carefully referencing the surrounding enamel, patterns, and decorative details.

The New Bedford Whaling Museum presented our Decorative Arts department with a Pairpoint Glass electric mushroom lamp requiring extensive repair.

Its lampshade arrived in more than 17 pieces, with several large areas missing.

Each surviving fragment had to be carefully examined before the shade could be reconstructed by hand. The process required precise placement, controlled repair methods, and a clear understanding of the lamp’s original form and construction.
