The vineyard is soaking up the sunshine. ☀️🍇

Grapevines actually love hot, dry weather. Less rain means the vines can focus their energy on ripening the fruit instead of producing excess growth, resulting in sweeter grapes, more concentrated flavors, and healthier vines. The roots dig deep in search of water, creating stronger plants and better fruit.

It’s also one of the reasons wine lovers often have favorite vintages. The weather (amongst other things!) shapes everything giving each year’s wine its own unique personality.

The vines are starting to bounce back from the spring freeze 🍇🌿 We still lost most of the crop for the season, but some of the secondary shoots are showing a small partial crop potential. The remainder of the season will focus on growing the canopy so the vines can focus on recovery and storing nutrients for the winter.
