For those of you dealing with uncertainty in your business, work, or life in general these days, I can relate. I am in a season of business development and have been praying for discernment for next right steps. The response that I keep getting is: “Focus on being in right relationship with God, others, and the world.” So after two months of reflection, here is a faith-based article I wrote on this topic.

Fellow small business owners: How have/will you give back this year?

As some of you know, a large part of our family's legacy involves music - it's how my parents met, it's how my husband and I met, and now my son plays my Dad's trumpet. My son is the one who had this vision: Every child should have the opportunity to learn a musical instrument. So, our business initiated a scholarship fund for a local school band program, which gave seven students an opportunity to participate in band this year. Giving does not have to be done on a grand scale to be meaningful. And if finances are an issue, consider giving back in the form of time or talents.
