We are working to secure an increase in children's behavioral health Medicaid rate as a budget line item. This is important to our work, so we need everyone to make a call TODAY!

Take action now:
-Call the Legislative Message Line 1-800-372-7181
-Your message is for the "Senate Appropriations & Revenue (A&R) Committee members and Senate Leadership." Give your name and address to the attendant when prompted.
-When asked for your message, say "Please include the children's behavioral health Medicaid rate increase in the final budget. Without it, outcomes for our children will continue to decline and agencies will continue to close programs. Thank you."
-Leave a comment below so we can keep a tally of how many people called.

Mending Point is always looking for opportunities to take the extra step in child welfare and serving Kentucky's families. 💙

This week, we attended Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky's Kids Are Worth It Conference. Our team attended workshops, earned various credentials, and got to meet some amazing people who work hard for Kentucky's children and families.

Oh yeah, and we got to meet the governor, Andy Beshear. What a wonderful week!

At Mending Point, we see a lot of young people like Maya who see their "normal" as one marked with trauma. We strive to change that "normal" and help them see their true potential as an individual of worth, no matter what has happened to them.

She grew up surrounded by the pain of substance abuse, instability, and fear. By age 11, Maya was in foster care, carrying the weight of anxiety and depression. She believed that trauma was her “normal.”

But then, Maya met Mending Point. Through compassionate counseling, dedicated case management, and a safe, nurturing environment, she began to heal. Slowly, she found her voice and with that—hope.

This year, Maya graduated high school, something she once thought wasn't possible. And now, she’s enrolled in college, chasing her dream of becoming a computer scientist. 🎓

✨ Maya’s “new normal” is now filled with possibility. And it’s because of you.
