Interesting read about PJM, which is the RTO (grid operator) that Indiana MIchigan Power is part of.

While more than 100 million people are watching this weekend, PJM will be tuning in to the unique pattern of energy usage that the pregame, halftime and postgame festivities produce throughout the region.

As the country’s largest grid operator, PJM’s job is to continuously match power supply with demand, transmitting electricity the second it is needed to the 65 million people it serves across 13 states and Washington, D.C.

Regardless of how the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs perform in Las Vegas – or how many times Taylor Swift pops up on your screen – PJM will be prepared. Its operators were doing this for decades before Super Bowl I in 1967 saw the same Chiefs lose to the Packers.

Interesting technology. The world's nuclear technology is changing, and this has promise.

OFF THE GRID: BWX Technologies, Inc. is developing these transportable microreactor that can thrive in remote locations to provide reliable clean power and industrial heat 🔥.

The high-temperature gas reactor uses a different form of TRISO fuel that contains a uranium nitride fuel kernel for higher performance.

The team will work with Idaho National Laboratory and Oak Ridge National Laboratory to test and qualify the fuel.

They will also focus on optimizing advanced manufacturing technologies that could help cut the cost of microreactors and develop capabilities that could benefit future advanced reactor designs in the process.
