What happens when 18 high-performing strangers walk into a retreat and are told they’ll give a TED-style talk that night?
Sometimes the most powerful thing we can do is remember who we already are.
Last week, I spent three days back at one of my favorite places in Minnesota— .mn— for a leadership retreat on accessing your authentic way of being and unleashing your truest voice.
Eighteen of us arrived not fully knowing what we were stepping into— but each trusting the person who invited us. Within an hour of dinner, we were told we’d each be giving a 5–7 minute TED-style talk that night.
The next two days were full of feedback, reflection, movement, breathwork, and brave conversations that stripped away layers of performance until we found something more true.
By the final morning, with fog rolling across the lake, something had shifted.
Each person stood taller, spoke freer, and radiated a deeper sense of self.
As someone who often facilitates spaces like this for others, it was a gift to be the one held. To receive feedback, take risks, and refine my own craft from a place of presence.
The whole experience was a masterclass in what it means to lead from being rather than doing.
Massive gratitude to and Hanyul for hosting, and especially to for facilitating such a transformative experience!
🥗 To and for the farm-to-table meals that nourished us each day.
🧘♂️ To for the bonding and the cold dips + sauna!).
🌫️ And to the glorious fog and stillness that made the final morning unforgettable.
I left feeling grounded, grateful, and reconnected to my own voice— and to the power of creating space for others to find theirs.
What helps you reconnect to your true self when life gets noisy?
