The U.S. Small Business Administration is offering low-interest federal disaster loans to businesses, private nonprofits, homeowners, and renters affected by the severe storms and tornadoes on June 17 and June 21.

What's available: Up to $2 million for businesses and private nonprofits β€” real estate, machinery, equipment, inventory, and other business assets

Up to $500,000 for homeowners to repair or replace a primary residence

Up to $100,000 for homeowners and renters to replace personal property

Rates are as low as 4% for businesses, 3.625% for nonprofits, and 2.875% for homeowners and renters, with terms up to 30 years. No interest accrues and no payments are due until 12 months after the first disbursement.

Economic Injury Disaster Loans are also available for working capital β€” even if your business had no physical damage.

Deadlines to file for physical damage:

Sept. 8 β€” Clark, Clay, Coles, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Fayette, Jasper, Moultrie, and Shelby counties
Sept. 28 β€” Franklin, Hamilton, Jefferson, Marion, Perry, Washington, and Wayne counties

Economic injury deadlines: April 12, 2027 and April 29, 2027, respectively.
