The biggest leadership gap in 2026 isn’t strategy.

It’s not even skills.

It’s the gap between the leader people need…
and the leader they actually get.

72% of employees say their manager is the #1 reason they stay or leave.

Yet most leaders are still managing tasks instead of leading humans.

They’re closing deals.

But not closing the trust gap.

Not closing the clarity gap.

Not closing the “I actually give a crap about you” gap.

The result?

Quiet quitting. High turnover. Exhausted teams. And leaders who wonder why no one is following with their whole heart.

Here’s the truth most won’t say out loud:

You can’t close the gap for your people until you close the gap in yourself.

Self-awareness.
Emotional intelligence.
Clear purpose.
Daily discipline.

That’s what separates the leaders who merely occupy the title
from the ones who actually close the gap.

The Power of 3
Most leaders try to impact as many people as possible.
What if the smarter move is to intentionally lead only three?
When you pour into 3 people each year who then pour into 3 others…
• After 3 years: 1,024 people impacted
• After 5 years: 65,520 people impacted
• After 7 years: over 2 million people impacted
You don’t need a massive platform.
You need intentionality.
You matter more than you think.
Who are your 3?

Only 22% of leaders have strong emotional intelligence.

Yes-22 Percent...Yikes!

That means 78% are leading teams, making decisions, and influencing culture… without the #1 skill that drives performance, retention, and results.

The gap is real.

The question is: are you closing it—or living in it?

Emotional intelligence isn’t soft. It’s the hardest (and most profitable) leadership skill there is.

This weekend we celebrate the hard-won freedom that defines our nation — the courage of those who declared independence, the sacrifice of those who defended it, and the opportunity it gives every one of us to pursue something greater.

But as believers, we know the deepest freedom isn’t just external… it’s the freedom we have in Christ. Freedom from fear. Freedom from performance. Freedom to live with eternal purpose — whether we’re on the field, in the boardroom, leading our families, or serving our communities.

“For freedom Christ has set us free…” (Galatians 5:1)

And “whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31)

This Independence Day, I’m praying we don’t just grill and watch fireworks — but that we close the gap between the freedom we’ve been given and the faithful lives we’re called to live.

How can you lead with more courage and character this week?

Who in your circle needs to hear about the hope and freedom found in Jesus?

What “temporary trophy” are you ready to lay down for an eternal one?

Let’s honor the legacy of liberty by living it out boldly — on the field, at home, and in our workplaces.

Drop a 🙌 if you’re grateful for both America’s freedom and the greater freedom we have in Christ. Tag a leader or friend who needs this reminder today.

Post Father's Day Thoughts- We need "real men" to step up. Here are 10 qualities of the real ones. Controversial? Potentially. Truthful? Yes.

If we truly want to create a world where we thrive, we need men to be great and to lead- at home, and in the workplace. It’s exhausting seeing men portrayed as lazy clowns, or as the evil villain, and only in a positive light as a passive, timid, doormat caricature. Somehow this is controversial to some, but it bears repeating-and clarifying. Our world needs men, real men, now more than ever. What does a “real man” look like to you? Here’s my list.

10.) Real Men Sacrifice for Others Without Blame or Complaining- It’s not about us- it’s about what others learn from us and what we leave behind.

9.) Real Men Know Who They Are, Why They are Here, and What Matters Most to Them- Nothing is more dangerous to the evil agenda of the world than a man of self-awareness and conviction. A man who will not overreact emotionally but will absolutely stand their ground morally. A man with a greater purpose. God first-family second-everything else after.

8.) Real Men Fall on the Sword- Insecure, weak men cannot accept responsibility for their actions. Real men own their mistakes, fix them, and change things (sometimes drastically) to prevent those mistakes from repeating.

7.) Real Men Work SMART and HARD- Real men don’t waste time- everything they do has a purpose. They recognize opportunity and work their butts off to seize it. They recognize burnout, so they schedule in rest. They recognize a faltering relationship and do something about it. Real men work smart and hard.

6.) Real Men Don’t Cheat- Real men don’t care about winning just for winning’s sake. It gives them no satisfaction if it’s not earned. Real men would lose with honor and integrity over winning by taking shortcuts and cheating every single time. Real men honor commitments.

5.) Real Men are Radically Generous- Our entire world would forever be changed if wealth generosity had the same status as wealth accumulation. Real men give first, provide for themselves and their families next and then give the rest radically. It's only become a concept needing governmentally regulated because real men are lacking. Real men know and understand that is actually is better to give than to receive.

4.) Real Men Create Their Life- Not Just Accept It- Real men have initiative. They are courageous. They will make the extra call and take the extra chance. They will leave no stone unturned to fulfill purpose, add value, and to get the job done.

3.) Real Men Learn & Grow- Weak men pretend that they have all the answers, too insecure and proud to acknowledge the truth. There is always something to improve, something new to learn, and some new habits that need created or broken for maximum performance. Real men are growth-focused, not complacent.

2.) Real Men Listen More Than Yell- Just as timid wallflowers are not Real Men, neither are tough guys who have no emotional control and are power hungry. Putting other people down to lift yourself up doesn’t make you a real man- just a jerk. Real Men have two ears and one mouth for a reason- they think and hear before they talk.

1.) Real Men Love, Not Hate- Real men will do whatever is necessary to protect what and who they love, while cowards will do whatever is necessary to eliminate real men. People who look differently, believe differently, act and speak differently, are not an enemy to be hated- to real men- they are real people who also have a purpose. Real men love others always but also understand that real love is not defined by accepting or celebrating every choice someone else makes. Occasional anger is sometimes necessary for real men: after all- anger is not the opposite of love: hate is.

What did I miss?

Happy Father's Day to all the real men out there working every day to make a difference. The world needs you to keep going!

What does “success” mean to you?

I’ll start- my definition goes like this-

“Success is a confident peace from TRYING your best to BE your best at something that MATTERS.”

Or in other words- SUCCESS is PEACE from maximum effort+maximum performance for a powerful PURPOSE!

Thoughts? I’d love to know how you define success for yourself. And if you haven’t- well, then how will you ever know if you are or not? 🤔
