Justin Wilson and Mike Ousley attended The Great Lakes Technology Showcase in Ft. Wayne, Indiana yesterday. It was a great event and a nice opportunity to catch up with a few old friends and make some new connections. If you missed us and would like to schedule a call to see what the team has been up to, just let us know. We're always happy to chat.

Happy National Techies Day!

Do you have all the newest tech and your whole life pretty much automated? You might be a techie if you said yes—but that's ok! What's your favorite tech piece?

Microsoft runs it's own CDN program for network operators called Microsoft Connected Cache, and the software is free. The catch is that someone has to run it. At FD-IX, we decided that someone should be us. Learn more here: https://zurl.co/IUvhj

Microsoft's cache is free, but someone has to run it. Here's why FD-IX hosts it on the fabric so members save transit without owning another box.

Before you can peer, buy transit, or reach a cloud on-ramp, you need a cross-connect. It's one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in a data center, and one of the least explained.

Our new post covers:
-What a cross-connect is (and isn't)
-How the LOA-CFA and ordering process works
-How the cable gets from your rack, through the meet-me room, to theirs
-The fiber details that trip people up: single-mode vs. multimode, connectors, and "rolling the fiber"

Plus a quick checklist to use before you place your next order.

Read it here: https://zurl.co/Wv8Q3

What a data center cross-connect is, how one gets ordered and built, and the fiber details that trip people up.

We, along with The National Broadband Co-op, were honored to co-host a tour of Lifeline Data Centers Fort Wayne facility this morning. Along with a couple of members of Senator Banks staff, we were joined by business owners and a representative from The Northeast Indiana Defense Industry Association. Great information shared by our guide from Lifeline, Josh. Awesome things happening in Indiana's 2nd largest city!

Today is WIFE APPRECIATION DAY and while we appreciate our better halves every day, this is the perfect time to honor the women that we all out-kicked our coverage with!

Wife Appreciation Day on the third Sunday in September provides an opportunity for spouses to show appreciation to their wives.

The relationship between two people takes balance. Every day, spouses do things for each other, sometimes without thinking. Other times, work and responsibilities get in the way. This observance offers a reminder to show a little appreciation to your wife.

Thanks to Amber Wilson, Misty LePere, Kathleen Hammett, and Susan Ousley for all you do....and for putting up with us!
